Throwdown grapplers dominate local tourny

Dayne Aristizabal wins Champions Challenge ABSOLUTE division Saturday at UVU.

Throwdown's Dayne Aristizabal won the overall absolute division, Steve Sharp took 2nd, Mark Brewer took 3rd.

Newcomer to sport Jui jitsu, Jared Coleman won the advanced Heavyweight division.
Simon Ione performed very well placing 2nd advanced welterweight. We expect big things from Simon who has only been training off and on for 8 months.

Both Simon and Jared are Throwdown grapplers that have wrestling backgrounds, so it was good to see them compete in the advanced division instead of sandbagging it in the lower divisions

Cam Pacheco took the light weight advanced.
Rebecca Rodriguez was phenomenal. She is a very talented grappler, and looked solid.

Nathan,

Congrats on the Throwdown team's showing. They are some serious competitors for sure.

1 small clarification, however, I won the Advanced Heavyweight division.

Thanks,

Marc Brewer

About 50 people entered this time.
Had about 100 people last time. Shorter notice, less BYU students in town, & not getting the word out earlier, but it should be better come November.
